WWF launched its operations in Russia back in 1989. The Fund started its work in the country with a major project as it funded the establishment of the largest nature conservation park in Russia «Great Arctic Nature Reserve».

Since then WWF has implemented dozens of projects in Russia that established and supported nature reserves and national parks, helped protect endangered animals, and preserve forests and seas. Such projects were made possible by donations from millions of WWF supporters around the world. Join us in supporting them, and the next time you read about the protection of an endangered bear or an extinguished forest fire... you can take pride in knowing that you helped make it happen

«Zdes I Seychas»

«Zdes I Seychas» (Here and Now) charity foundation for support of orphaned children was established by people who care about children at risk. They try to change the shameful reality in Russia when for over two-hundred thousand orphaned children whose parents are still alive.

The foundation is non-profit and supported by private donations. It is an independent organization and does not have owners. «We are simply trying to realize the ideas we believe in. And we believe that every child in the world has an inherent right to be loved and supported by adults. We do not limit the scope of our work by geographic boundaries or the formal status of kids. We help fostered children who live in orphanages, boarding schools, and child care centers. We help graduates of institutions for orphaned kids, foster families, and families at risk.»

The Russian Red Cross

The Russian Red Cross is a charity NGO, member of The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Movement unites over 500 million people in 181 countries around the world. The work of the Russian Red Cross is focused on helping people in need.

The major humanitarian programs of the Russian Red Cross target development of the healthcare system, and education and social support to the most vulnerable segments of the population, including: children from low-income families, orphans, the elderly, veterans, refugees and asylum-seekers, people with disabilities, and people affected by extreme disasters.

«Zhivoy»

«Zhivoy» charity foundation for the support of adults was established to help people in need; particularly those with diseases, or people who were born with a disease and cannot help themselves.

Upon reaching adulthood, sick people lose the attention of specialized «children’s» foundations and cannot get assistance again until they get old. No one wants to help adults in need. Everyone is helping children and old people simply because they are stereotypically the most vulnerable. Children have a better chance of getting help since there are more opportunities for them. Elderly people collect homage. Meanwhile, adults are often blamed for their misfortunes or for their inability to help themselves. «We want to call attention to a problem that anyone of us could potentially face. And we want to change the status quo... even as we do it case by case.»

«Downside up»

Be open-minded and change the life of children with Down syndrome in Russia! About 2500 babies with Down syndrome are born in Russia annually, and in most cases parents abandon them at birth because of the outdated belief that these children are unable to develop. Those families which have chosen to raise their children deal with the absence of governmental early intervention services, particularly in the Russian regions.

From 1997, Downside Up has been providing FREE of charge support for thousands of families of children with Down syndrome from birth to seven years. They are provided with professional psychological and medical consultations, assistance in learning and social skills development and with literature. Thanks to continuous professional support kids learn how to walk and communicate and most of them are admitted to preschools and schools. Without Downside Up programs their life and the life of their families would be much more difficult. They need your help!

Expenditure reports of the charity organizations are available on their respective web sites.
