Volunteer activity Citi is a company with a two hundred-year history of volunteering, actively supporting the volunteer activities of its employees. In 2006, Citi held Global Community Day in more than 100 countries of the world, including Russia. The success of the event, and the enjoyment that Citi employees derived from participation in such international initiatives meant that the company decided to make Global Community Day an annual event. In three years, Citi has succeeded in recruiting 150,000 volunteers, who have contributed their time in a broad range of different social events. In 2008, 387 Citibank employees in Russia took part in this international initiative, including their family members and friends from 11 Russian cities. In each city where the company is present, there are patronage organizations that are supported by Citi employees throughout the year. |
