ZAO Citibank announced today the appointment of Sergey Korotkov as Russia Retail Banking Business Head. Bhaskar Katta moves to Czech Republic to become Consumer Business Manager for the country. Sergey will be managing the bank's branch based distribution network in Russia, as well as be responsible for product development and for building a segment focused strategy for the business.
Sergey joined Citi in 1994 and started his career in Internal Audit unit on the Corporate Bank side. During his 16 years in Citi he built an extensive experience both on Corporate and the Consumer Bank. He held various leadership positions within Operations, Sales and Business Management. Sergey Korotkov is a Member of the Management Board of ZAO Citibank. Amit Sah, Consumer Business Head for Russia, says: "Given Sergey's diverse experience within Citi Russia and in leading large teams successfully, we are confident that Sergey will make a significant contribution towards growing Citi’s retail business in Russia." Sergey has been one of the founding members of the Consumer Business in the country and has been instrumental in building Russian Consumer franchise and launching the business in our regional cities. In January 2008 Sergey had been asked to start the SME business in Russia. Sergey graduated from MGIMO and has PhD in Economics. He also obtained MBA at University of Chicago.
