How Citibank Alerting Service works
- My SMS messages are delayed. Why?
High utilization of mobile operators sms centers can cause the sms delays. Also you could be out of coverage area.
Please also check that your sms inbox is not full, or that you have funds on your phone account. (depends on mobile operator and tariff).
- I am not getting messages, though I am subscribed for this Service.
Please check, that you are subscribed to this service. You can do this in Citibank Online or CitiPhone. If you subscribed to this service through Citiphone, in which case it will take 3 business days to process your subscription request.
Please also check that your phone number and e-mail address are correct.
- I have changed my phone number (email) and I stopped getting messages
Please log in to Citibank Online, and change your phone number. You can also call CitiPhone and our operators will assist you. Please note it is very important to keep you contact information updated. Please always let us know if your contact information changed.
- I am receiving a lot of messages – how can I reduce this number?
It is possible that you are making a lot of transactions. You can also change frequency of receiving account balance messages – you can select “once a month”, or “once a week” – instead of “once a day” in your Citibank Alerting Service profile.
- I am not receiving messages when I am using roaming service
An ability to receive sms in roaming may depend on operators agreements, service availability for the particular customer, service availability in a particular area etc. Citibank can not guarantee SMS delivery for the customers who are currently using roaming services.
