World MasterCard® Credit Cardholder Insurance Program

Dear Customers:

Starting June 1, 2015, we stop to issue insurance certificates for World MasterCard® primary cardholders. You can receive discounts for travelers insurance programs at Citibank’s partners. All insurance certificates , issued till May 31, 2015 are effective till termination date, indicated in certificate.

The primary holders of valid Citibank World MasterCard® credit cards1 , who received insurance certificates till May 31, 2015 have the benefit of the World MasterCard® Credit Cardholder Insurance Program2.

The insurance is only available to primary holders of valid Citibank World MasterCard® credit cards and is designed to protect against foreign travel risks and provide the ultimate peace of mind and security. The cost of insurance is included in the World MasterCard® credit card annual fee.

Main advantages of the insurance

  • It allows you to apply for a visa to any country3 without a need for a separate insurance policy
  • It provides you with personal liability insurance while abroad up to specified cover limits
  • It allows you to receive administrative and legal assistance up to specified cover limits
  • It covers an unlimited number of trips per year

Description of the program

The insurance program offered by OJSC IC Allianz to World MasterCard® credit card holders provides for a wide range of insured events and covers medical care and medical transportation while abroad, loss or delay of baggage, flight delay, and administrative and legal assistance, up to specified cover limits.

Below is a detailed list of expenses covered by the insurance provider.

Terms and conditions of the program

The insurance is only available to the primary holders of valid Citibank World MasterCard® credit cards aged between 22 and 70 years, after they have charged the first transaction4 to the credit card.

The insurance will commence on the date specified in the insurance certificate and continue for one (1) calendar year. The insurance certificate will be issued at the customer’s request provided that he/she still is the primary holder of a valid Citibank World MasterCard® credit card.

Insurance certificate

The insurance certificate will be issued at the customer’s request upon the first card transaction and may be picked up at a Citibank branch or sent to the customer via the Post of Russia. The customer will receive the original and a copy of the policy, and the Explanatory Notice for Persons Insured under the Cardholder’s Expense Insurance Policy. The insurance certificate may be requested by calling CitiPhone or visiting any Citibank branch.

If you have an urgent need to travel, you can apply for your insurance certificate at any Citibank branch and have it issued at the time of application.

What to do if an insured event has occurred

  • Call the service center immediately on the number provided in your insurance policy. The insurer may refuse to cover your expenses or provide assistance if you fail to contact the service center immediately upon the occurrence of the insured event.
  • Follow the operator’s instructions. The operator will arrange for assistance to be provided and for the bills to be paid by the insurer.
  • If upon agreement with the operator you undertake to pay the costs associated with the insured event yourself, you will be able to receive compensation on your return back home. For this purpose, you will need to submit an insurance claim and supporting documents to the insurer. The insurance claim procedure and the list of required documents are set out in the Explanatory Notice for Persons Insured under the Cardholder’s Expense Insurance Policy.

Please note that when you contact the insurer, you will be required to provide your credit card number and full name. The insurer reserves the right to refuse assistance and compensation if the credit card is not valid. By contacting the insurer, you acknowledge that you are aware of the requirement to provide the insurer with your personal data.
