Citi, a company with a 200-year tradition of volunteerism, actively supports the volunteer initiatives of its employees. In 2006 in more than 100 countries worldwide, including in Russia, Citi Global Community Day was held for the first time. The success of this endeavor and the joy Citi employees experienced from participating in such an international initiative led the company to decide to make Global Community Day an annual event.
Each year more than 400 employees of the Citi Russia from 11 cities join their colleagues from around the world and participate in this day celebrating volunteerism, helping both the young and the elderly, homeless animals and also organizing environmental initiatives:
Furthermore, in each city where the bank has a presence, employees have a specially sponsored organization to which they provide assistance throughout the year.
Tatiana Avramenko, Community Relations Officer, AO Citibank: “Throughout the year we hold more than 50 volunteer events: this includes blood drives, trips to sponsored orphanages and homes for the elderly, collections of funds and clothing, caring for homeless animals, and clean-up work in parks and city squares. We take pride in the fact that our employees are very active and support their endeavors in any way possible. We believe that such efforts are useful not only for society but also for the company: it helps in team building, leaders emerge and employees take the initiative."
Citi Russia and St. Petersburg’s Child in Danger children’s shelter celebrated 10 years of cooperation.
