If you have Viber on your device and are online at the time of messaging, useful messages, such as notifications of statement availability, credit limit change, etc., will be sent to you via Viber. This is a convenient, safe and secure way to communicate information: our account has been verified by Viber and will be marked with a green tick in your contacts list.

Account and card activity alerts (Citibank Alerting Service) and one-time passwords (OTPs) will continue to be sent as SMS text messages.

Please note:

1. Viber uses your phone number as your identity but isn’t linked to the SIM card. Therefore, don’t forget to exit Viber when replacing your SIM card or mobile device. If you lose your phone, you can link your Viber account to another device.
2. Citibank notifications only originate from the sender “Citibank” green-ticked as a verified sender and bear the Citi logo.
3. If you’ve accidentally unsubscribed from Citibank notifications in Viber, just log into the Citibank’s chat again, scroll to the top and click “Subscribe”.
